From
the hype of Saint-Tropez beaches to
the chic Bangkok neighbourhoods. Le
Lys, rich with memories, has found a
place in the shade of large, old trees,
sitauated in a quite residential lane,
close to Bangkok’s business centre.
We immediately fell for this beautiful
and peaceful house, shrouded in greenery
and where we could arrange our beloved
collection of furniture and ornaments.
These which now decorate our rooms,
enliven the garden and give the restaurant
its style and ambiance, both warm and
elegant.
This is a family home where, for the
past decade, the same people have taken
good care of their guests. The atmostphere
is airy and relaxed, the way country
homes often are.
Whether under the foliage of the terrace,
at the Sala Bar, or in the privacy of
the dining room, you will enjoy savoury
and richly flavoured Thai cuisine. Fresh
from its exotic ingredients, although
moderately spicy, as well as Thai dishes
that have been long forgotten on Bangkok
menus; Tom Som, Gaeng Khua Khom, ….
At our long wooden bar both regulars
and customers, never in a hurry, come
to drink simple cocktails and watch
sports broadcasts, in a friendly atmosphere
akin to a Parisian bar.
Lined with bamboo and mayom, a petanque
court runs alongside the restaurant
and brings its Southern French touch.
This is our Croisette side, which is
our Thai side too, for petanque is a
royal sport in Thailand, is it not?
